I found a new theme I am absolutely in love with. Its called Flat and its so simple and just gorgeous! I may be switching over other blogs to this theme as well.
I haven’t been blogging but I have, except for a few days, been tracking.Last Friday and Saturday I did not track because we went out for dinner Friday night (date night!) and ate at a little hold in the wall Mexican place. We shared a cheese quesadilla as an appetizer, there was the seemingly unending supply of chips and salsa, and I had a wet chicken burrito with rice and beans on the side with horchata to drink. Saturday I really could have tracked but I just didn’t. We took Mattie’s dad shopping and went to Del Taco for dinner, and after we left his place we ran a few of our own errands and stopped for ice cream at Baskin Robins. I had a 2 scoop sundae with blueberry cheesecake and baseball nut ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, slivered almonds, and a cherry.
The last week or so I have been crazy busy with working on a personal project, which will be unveiled on Oct 12th. There have been a lot of ups and down on it, some poor decisions which blew up in my face, and finally, things got on track. I think I’m down to just making tiny adjustments and fine tuning things now and I have plenty of time to get it done. I hope that once its finished, it will be better than what I have now and will perform better as well. I almost wish I was moving up the date on this because I can’t wait to show it off, but its better to take my time and relax while working on it in case I miss something big.
My grocery shopping has been pretty darned good the last few weeks. I’ve been buying tons of fresh produce, meat, and some dairy. Except for Mattie’s lunches, 98% of what I buy is fresh. I feel really good about my shopping. I never thought I’d grow up and be proud of my grocery shopping skills! LOL I spent $77 this week, and with that got 37 items (one non-food item), 28 of which were completely unprocessed foods. Sometimes I think people put too much stress on only eating certain foods. All I’m doing is replacing carbs such as rice or pasta or potatoes with more vegetables. The first week was hard, but for the most part now we are good with a double helping of veggies (or even fruit as dinner) instead.
I stepped on the scale a few days and it was okay. Not great, and higher than I’d like, but it wasn’t panic-inducing high either. What I need to be doing is getting my butt back to the gym. I’d be back down to where I was in no time if I did that and kept my food on track. Sadly, I don’t seem to have any stick-to-it-ness lately and am failing miserably on the exercise front.
