Super Exciting Awesome Stuff
Monday nights we have pool league, and last night was our last night of the season. I had won exactly one game the whole thing, but last night, I won two games! I managed to keep my cool and not attack hug anyone this time, but I was still super excited. I also made a lot of left-handed shots- Mattie commented on it and I told him that should clue him in to how much I hate the bridge. I’d rather learn to shoot left-handed then use it if at all possible.
We don’t don’t go back to start the new season until the 10th, so we have a few weeks off in which Mattie and I can hopefully get some practice in. Now if I could beat Mattie in a game, I’d probably squeal… lol. I hope I can win twice as many games in the next season. ![]()
Food & What I Ate
Food was pretty good yesterday, save for one slip up. I probably should not call it a slip up, because it was intentional, but I won’t be repeating it any time soon. I’ve already gone off track twice this week. I made tostadas for dinner, and I had one tortilla. It was a small tortilla, but it was still something totally off of my plan (bread) and it shouldn’t have happened. Anyway, yesterday I finished up 2 points into the weeklies and was proud of myself for just having a glass of water at pool last night and not getting a beer or a pretzel or nachos or anything else like that. I really, really wanted a pretzel and could practically taste the cheese sauce.
Today was better, especially since the house is stocked up again with good healthy choices and plenty to choose from. I went shopping before I made breakfast, because really all we had was eggs. I still had eggs for breakfast when I got home, but I had mushrooms to mix into them at that point. It was higher in points than I was thinking it would be, but still not a bad breakfast.
After shopping, I made a spinach and mushroom quiche so I have a few breakfasts ready to go for the next few days. I thought about making two, but not a big fan of reheated frozen eggs, so stuck with one. I also made a small batch of chicken soup with sweet potato, carrots, and mushrooms in it for me on a future day (Mattie won’t eat half of what I put in it), and some applesauce to go with dinner.
Dinner tonight was a pork roast, the applesauce, and braised cabbage with apples. The pork roast was larger than I normally buy them, so we had quite a bit more than just a chunk for each of us, which I will probably eat tomorrow. The cabbage was amazing! I would eat that a lot more often for sure.
Anyway, I finished out the day under my goals.
Grocery Haul Time
I was worried about not being able to get everything we needed this week, seeing I had $73 to spend this week, and my list was coming out to $84, and there wasn’t anything I could take off of it. Then I remembered I had a $10 off $50 card for Winco that came in the mail the other day, so figured I’d come pretty close to getting everything on my list. And not only did I get everything on my list, but I got a few things not on it/more than what I had planned. I ended up spending almost every bit of available grocery money to within about $0.30 but I got everything.
I cannot express how much I love the ListOn shopping app I have on my phone for tracking the cost of everything as its added to my shopping cart.
Meat $33.92
Fruits and Veggies $25.72
|
Frozen Foods $11.63
Beverages $4.98
Dairy $4.40
Other $2.62
Total Haul $83.27 – $10.00 Coupon = $73.27 |
I actually still have $30 left, but its supposed to go into my gas tank this week. But since it hasn’t yet, and I am betting only half of it will it anyway, I have a few extra dollars to snatch up whatever might come up later in the week. I’m not sure what might come up, besides maybe milk, but either way, its covered if and when it does.
